La Necesidad de Sentirse Vivo

Amelie establece una extraña relación epistolar con el soldado norteamericano Melvin Mapple destinado en Irak. Pronto este comienza a contarle su vida en el ejercito, su problema de sobrepeso producto del stress, sobre la personalidad de Sherezade que irrumpe en sus noches de insomnio y las reflexiones del día a día de un soldado raso obeso. La correspondencia va profundizando, ya no son las simples cartas de un soldado a una escritora, una familiaridad va calando en las escuetas cartas que se envían y la familiaridad que va creando una dependencia que se va reconociendo abiertamente. En un arranque de cinismo la autora le recomienda una especie de terapia contra la obesidad que para su sorpresa Melvin la acepta y se transforma en Body Art, su alter ego, un proyecto artístico-protesta contra su aumento de peso incontrolable. Un buen día se interrumpe la comunicación. Las auténticas cartas son puestas sobre la mesa, la sorpresa, el desconcierto y la verdad salen a la luz. Pero Amelie es mucha Amelie y da un paso más.
Novela corta mezcla de narrativa y género epistolar en la que la autora comenzando con la historia de un soldado con Síndrome de la Guerra del Golfo, sus angustias, temores, remordimientos y bulimia le dá un giro inesperado a la trama llevando esta a la necesidad de comunicación y la soledad del ser humano que sorprende al lector una vez más por su originalidad y sencillez a la hora de contar una historia, desarrollarla y cerrarla a la perfección.
